John Stapleton, LWP Board Member and Partner at PIVOT Architecture, has been selected as the 2024 Oregon Workforce Champion!
John’s exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to workforce development have made a significant impact on our communities. Serving on the Board of Directors for Lane Workforce Partnership and chairing the Community Engagement Committee, John has been a driving force behind initiatives such as “Constructing a Brighter Future” and “Team Oregon Build”. Since March, Team Oregon Build has expanded to serve 22 counties, reaching 11,115 student classroom experiences in 86 unique schools. Through John’s leadership and guidance, Team Oregon Build has received 417 orders from Construction CTE Classrooms across Oregon.
His dedication to service and workforce development embodies the spirit of the Oregon Workforce Partnership’s mission. Oregon Workforce Partnership is honored to recognize John as the 2024 Oregon Workforce Champion for his outstanding contributions to our state’s workforce. Congratulations, John!
About John: John began his career in the built environment 35 years ago as a general contractor based in mid Missouri. His love for the craft of building and thoughtful community spaces led him to return to school for design; he moved to Eugene to attend the University of Oregon School of Architecture, where he graduated in 2001. John is now a Partner at PIVOT Architecture, a regional design firm based in Eugene. He lives here with his wife Tiffany Eckert, who is a reporter at KLCC, and his son Sean.
Connection to community and working to bring long-lasting solutions to civic issues are key motivators for John. He brings the ability to help groups communicate, discover common ground, and move forward together. John has a deep understanding of the built environment and an eye for design that speaks to peoples’ values. He places an emphasis on designing sustainable, meaningful spaces that serve the needs of the communities. He believes that the best design solutions come from truly listening to the clients, understanding their values, and co-creating spaces that reflect those values.
John has a passion for connecting youth with educational and economic opportunity to help expand horizons, create healthier communities, and bring lasting positive change to our shared lives.
