Success Stories - Cody

"Through this internship I found the job I want to do. I’m learning a lot at EWEB and hope to be a future employee."
Enrolled in the Lane Workforce Partnership’s year-round youth program while in high school, Cody was not planning on seeking higher education. Challenged with finding employment, he was placed on his first internship through the Summer Jobs and Careers Program, funded by the Recovery Act.
His first internship with Emerald People’s Utility District was so successful it led to an internship at Eugene Water and Electric Board (EWEB). During his internship, Cody received training in a wide range of skills in the utility field.
Proving to be dependable, quick learner and hard worker, he hopes to be a future EWEB employee. Building on the skills he learned through his internships, Cody plans to study diesel mechanics at Lane Community College. “Through this internship I found the job I want to do,” said Cody. “I’m learning a lot at EWEB and hope to be a future employee.”
