JOBS Program

Since 1990, Lane Workforce Partnership has been Lane County’s contractor for the Jobs Opportunities and Basic Skills (JOBS) Program through a contractual agreement with the Department of Human Services.

The JOBS Program is Oregon’s employment and training program for people on public assistance.   The focus of the program is to assist Department of Human Service clients to achieve self sufficiency through employment.

Lane Workforce Partnership provides a core of required service components that include:

  • Job Search Skill Instruction
  • Workforce Readiness
  • Structured Job Search
  • Community Work Experience
  • JOBS Plus

The success of the JOBS Program is measured by several performance outcomes:

  • Number of Clients in JOBS Plus
  • Job Placements
  • Job Placements Leading to TANF Closure
  • Average Monthly Work-Site Participants (Work Experience)

A segment of the JOBS Program is JOBS Plus.  JOBS Plus places individuals on Temporary Assistance for Needy Families in limited duration training positions with private or public employers.  Employers are reimbursed for wages paid to participants.
