About the Board

John Lively, Board President
The Lane Workforce Partnership board of directors is made up of representatives from business, education, economic development, organized labor, community-based organizations, state agencies and local government.
The board’s focus is to create workforce solutions that make local businesses stronger to compete in a global economy and ensure that people are prepared for jobs that will be available now and in the future. The board accomplishes this by scanning the environment, investing in the workforce, partnering with businesses and community organizations, and creating workforce solutions. As a convener Lane Workforce Partnership brings industry leaders together to collaborate and address common workforce issues.
The board of directors:
- Oversees the completion of a customer driven one stop workforce delivery system in Lane County
- Directs the implementation of comprehensive strategies for services to youth with special emphasis on the linkage between business and education.
- Develops and implements a regional workforce strategic plan.
- Promotes business involvement in the workforce system and assist business in meeting their hiring needs.
- Coordinates workforce activities with economic development and educational activities in Lane County communities.
